Website Maintenance
A website maintenance service is for customers with existing websites who wish to have someone responsible for amending or developing them when required. The service is usually ongoing with the same developer being used every time changes need to be made on the site. For developers, maintenance does not usually concern changes in content since that is usually the responsibility of the owner or an in-house website manager. Maintenance usually concerns technical issues to do with the code, database hosting etc.
Since website owners often loose touch with the original developer, or become unhappy with the quality of their work, site maintainers do not need to be the same people who developed the site in the first place. It is important though, especially with bigger sites, to establish a working relationship with maintainers so that they can become familiar with the site and so make changes more efficiently.
We currently maintain over 50 sites and understand the importance of being on hand when changes, however minor, are required. Most of our maintenance relationships are for sites that we initially developed. We feel that this high development to maintenance retention rate is testament to the trust our customers have in us. Because of the high volume of customers we usually request that changes be submitted by email with a follow up phone call from us, if necessary, to establish the exact nature of the amendments. Website Maintenance Prices:
For minor changes we charge £45 per hour.
Where developmental or structural changes running in longer timeframes are concerned we will quote for the work based on criteria listed in our website development pages.
